Welcome to the Tiverton Yacht Club Web site.

The club has 21 slips and 8 moorings available for members
and these are assigned each year on the basis of a point system (see
page). There are also storage lockers available on the beach for member rental.
Our Sail Training Program offers youngsters ages 7-16 the chance to learn how to
sail and members of all ages can hone their competitive racing skills by taking
part in evening racing series throughout the season. On occasion, we have been
known to enjoy club cruises
to different destinations around the bay and coastline.
Club social activities range from children’s parties to family pizza night, potluck dinners and adult wine-tasting events, all held at the clubhouse. The Tiverton Yacht Club is run for the most part by member volunteers through service as an officer, on the board of directors, or as a chair or member of one of ten committees. This allows us to keep membership fees relatively low and fosters a greater sense of community among individual members as they work together to set and achieve club goals. Club size is limited to 200 memberships, and we are generally at or near this limit.
Since the tragic loss of our clubhouse to fire in June 2003, we have made substantial progress toward our goal of rebuilding. Construction of the clubhouse itself is expected to begin in fall 2007. The new clubhouse will be built within the footprint of the old and its design is in many ways reminiscent of its predecessor.
Summer sail and swim programs will operate as usual this summer, with shower and bathroom facilities available on site. An outdoor tent with portable lighting for evening activities will allow us to offer a full calendar of social events throughout the summer season.
